Casa Isolani, period residences Piazza Maggiore 1.0
Casa Isolani is a charming Bed & Breakfast at the first floor of no. 1 Via D’Azeglio: to be in Piazza Maggiore and at the same time in the lively heart of this long and very old street, that reaches Porta San Mamolo. The rooms, which belong to the Cavazza Isolani family (one of the oldest in Bologna) have been perfectly restored with traces of ancient frescoes and refined details. The street is traffic free, in the centre of the shopping district. The singer Lucio Dalla lived for many years at no. 15, where the Foundation in his name is situated. Piazza Grande: one of his most beautiful songs.
Clock Tower room
Welcoming double room with view of the Torre d’Accursio, known as the Clock Tower for its mechanical clock. On the clock face, made in 1774, appears a flaming copper star, and in one of the rooms, unfortunately not open to the public, is a sundial. In this central room of the Casa Isolani Bed and Breakfast historical traces can be seen, in the antique furniture and in a small fresco on the wall depicting two angels with female faces. Apart from this, the room is modern and up-to-date, with Wifi access. The bathroom, tiled with mosaic in shades of blue, is provided with all services and has an ample shower.
The three windows offer luminosity and a panoramic 360° view over Bologna. Claudio Abbado chose it as his library.
Due Torri room
A horizontal window frames the view of the two Towers, symbol of Bologna: from this room you can enjoy the view at any time.
Re Enzo room
Large windows offer a view over the historic buildings of Via D’Azeglio. The furnishings are bright and tasteful.
